Pastor Deb Walkemeyer
Dr. Deb Walkemeyer is Co-Pastor of Light & Life Christian Fellowship in North Long Beach, CA. Over the past 30 years Light & Life has grown significantly and built a national reputation as a multi-ethnic, missional church which is planting new churches locally and globally.
Deb is a licensed marriage family therapist who also has a Doctorate from Fuller Seminary in Church Leadership. She co-authored “Flourish – Growing a Level 5 Marriage” with her husband, Larry.
As the former Pastor of the Light & Life Community Center she led a thriving Community Theater program for under-resourced youth as well as many other missional initiatives.
She is also a recognized Master Gardener who pioneered the Compton Community Garden which has received national acclaim as a model of urban transformation and ministry impact.
As Deb and Larry transition to global pastors at Light & Life, she also serves on the Free Methodist Executive Leadership Team as co-director with Larry for multiplication. Deb speaks and teaches in local and national leadership venues including Exponential. Deb is also a successful small business owner, managing a pool of vacation rental properties. She has been married to Larry since 1978 and is the proud mom of two daughters who both love Jesus. Pastor Deb enjoys waterskiing, snow skiing, biking, reading and especially spending time with her family.
