Addressing food insecurity through compassionate service.

Weekly Distribution
Weds. 10a-12p

The food distribution ministry provides groceries to over 300 each week.  Each Wednesday, we distribute groceries to families via a drive-through distribution program. We also reach our unhoused community by delivering canned food items and hygiene products to them each week. The project was born out to a need that developed within our community as a result of the devastating effects of the pandemic. Our organization has served the community of North Long Beach since 1954, however, we recognized a new and pressing need that developed in our community as a result of the global pandemic. While it was a global pandemic that affected everyone, it disproportionately impacted this community. We stepped up to meet some of these challenges, specifically the food insecurity that plagues this community.

We hope to have the honor to serve you, please register weekly below!

Free Farmers Market
2nd Sat. 10a-12p

Our Free Farmers Market is an amazing new program that hires special needs kids to run the booths. This joint venture with LB Unified School District's ACT program creates a space where graduating seniors are helped along with transition to adulthood through employment and further learning opportunities.

Our soft launch will be on February 11th from 10a-12p followed by our official launch on March 10th from 10a-12p.

Our Mission

The mission of the Light and Life Food Distribution Program is to demonstrate the love of Christ through tangible acts of compassion
that addresses food insecurity in our community.

Our Guiding Principle

We offer services in the same way Christ offered services to the marginalized and underserved of His day –
without judgment, and with dignity and respect for their personhood.
